What is Behavior Management?
Behavior management (BMAN) is provided to individuals from master-level consultants. Behavior consultants (BC) are required to have master degrees in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school psychology, or another applied health service area of psychology... special education, social work, or counseling... OR be a licensed marriage and family therapist licensed under IC 25-23, be a licensed clinical social worker under IC 25-23, or be a licensed mental health counselor under IC 25-23.

Behavior consultants provide direct and indirect services to an individual and are an active member of their individualized support team (IST). Behavior consultants support and empower individuals to work on skills that include, but are not limited to, coping techniques, activities of daily living (ADLs), self advocacy, and self-care. It is the goal of the behavior consultant to help the individual they serve decrease target/inappropriate behaviors and increase appropriate/replacement behaviors. They are also there to support the individual and give them tools to improve their quality of life and provide person-centered therapy.

Behavior consultants provide in-home and community-based therapy with the individuals they serve, based on their needs. Scheduling will depend on the client and behavior consultants availably, but typically behavior management services are provided weekly. Behavior consultants are required to complete functional behavior assessments (FBA) and behavior support plans (BSP) for each of their clients. These are personalized documents that identify target behaviors and appropriate proactive and reactive strategies for them. These documents are required to be updated annually, but may be updated at any time to fit the individuals needs. The behavior consultant will collect data and write session notes that will be analyzed each quarter to identify the progress of the individual. Behavior consultants are encouraged to attend every quarterly meeting, but are required to attend the semi-annual and annual meeting with the IST.

Our Story
A New Day Services is co-owned by Katrina Robinson and Taylor Allen. Our mission is to provide a new day full of growth and opportunities for every individual we serve. We have over 15 years of combined experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We both have master degrees through Ball State University in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). It has been a goal of ours to open up a company that can offer services to individuals with development and intellectual disabilities without barriers, without ties to others, and without judgment... and that is exactly what A New Day Services does. We are so excited to be able to provide individuals on the waiver with a team of skilled, master-level consultants, who are as passionate as we are.
